Reinders 2018 Lighting Camp

In the midst of dealing with snow, sleet, slush, mud and a whole lot more, Reinders 2018 Lighting Camp never wavered. The two-day camp offered classroom sessions and hands-on training to select local landscape professionals with the help of our lighting expert, Joel Reinders, and representatives from CAST Lighting.

Until recently, no one was allowed to touch the mound at Target Field other than two people: The pitcher and Head Groundskeeper Larry DiVito. Now in his 9th season with the Twins, DiVito has relaxed that rule a bit, allowing a longtime assistant to help shape the clay that sits atop the center of attention. DiVito, a longtime customer, sat down with Reinders during a break at a recent seminar to kindly answer a few of our Qs.

Most of the Upper Midwest received below average snowfall this past winter but it still managed to rattle our bones with long, repetitive bouts of subzero temperatures.  As we look to Spring, we’re anxious to jump on something and start driving around on our still-dormant, water-logged, brown turf.  Settle down, cowboy!  This isn’t a road race.

2017 Toro Green Blazer Goes to Reinders’ Grant Rundblade

Grant Rundblade, SCPS, of Reinders, Inc. received the prestigious Green Blazer Award for his accomplishments in Toro Equipment sales. It recognizes individuals who are “contributing to the industry and bringing enhanced knowledge to their customers.” Grant has been selling for Reinders since 2014. He previously won Toro’s Rookie of the Year award in 2015.

Plant Food for Thought @ Cog Hill: A Reinders Event Recap

Midwestern superintendents, turfgrass managers, and assistants descended upon Cog Hill, just southwest of Chicago, for a seminar on plant health nutrition. Numerous speakers were on hand including Tom Weinert and Greg Moore of Plant Food Company, Inc., while industry-renowned professor Dr. Bruce Clark spoke about Rutgers 2017 university research.
