Hazeltine to Host 2028 Ryder Cup

via Golf.com

Only 18 months after hosting the 2016 Ryder Cup, which yielded a much-needed U.S. win for the first time in eight years, Hazeltine National Golf Club was awarded the 2028 Ryder Cup. The announcement was made with a little help from the gold medal-winning U.S. men’s Curling Team at the St. Paul Curling Club, just a short drive from the course.

Team Europe has proven dominant, winning 6 of the last 8 bouts dating back to 2002. Can the United States go back-to-back at Hazeltine National in 2028? We’ll have to wait some time to find out, but one thing is for sure, there will be no shortage of entertaining and highly competitive golf to enjoy in the meantime.

Thanks, Tiger!

Detailed diagrams show every change made to every hole on Augusta National Golf Club

via GolfDigest.com

Hole #1 at Augusta National (above) has most recently undergone a green renovation to install a heating and cooling system.

As the first week of April rolls around, so does the familiar giddy excitement that the Masters is back. The pink and white azaleas, Amen Corner and Rae’s Creek — all reminders that it’s the best time of the year for golf fans.

Founded by Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts, Augusta National is the be-all and end-all of golf courses. Opened in 1933, Augusta has hosted the Masters since 1934, without a doubt golf’s most recognizable event. Over the years, Augusta National has undergone a plethora of changes: routing of holes, structure of greens, tree removal and length of rough.

Wouldn’t it be cool to see a hole-by-hole comparison that illustrates the changes? Thanks to Golf Digest, and computer artist Chris O’Riley, you can click through hole by hole and explore the course changes dating back to 1934.
